Chess for Schools
Southside Chess is a US Chess Federation affiliate that hosts chess clubs, classes, camps, and scholastic tournaments for schools and students in Eugene, Oregon. Since 1993 Southside chess instructors Jerry Ramey and Forrest Ramey have guided elementary, middle school and high school students to more than 75 state titles. Clubs
Clubs meet at elementary, middle, and high schools, and offer both instruction and competitive play.

Small-group classes for enthusiastic students, or private lessons for individuals, provide a competitive edge.

Tournaments
Three scholastic tournaments per year test the mettle of players, allow them to make new friends, and give them experience for state competition.
